Takeaway treats around the village

You’re bound to get a little peckish during your visit to the Port Sunlight. Here’s a list of places in Port Sunlight where you can grab a bite to eat, with options to suit all taste buds.

Picnics

Port Sunlight is blessed with lots of wide, open, green spaces which are the perfect place for a family picnic or for school and other groups to eat packed lunches. We care for most of these spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy, so please picnic responsibly and dispose of any litter using bins provided around the village. Some of our favourite spots include the Dell, Museum Green and along the Diamond where there are plenty of benches.

On the Museum Green, opposite Port Sunlight Museum and Lady Lever Art Gallery, you will find Mule Coffee and Copa Coffee serving a delicious range of takeaway hot drinks and sweet snacks. Usually open Wednesday-Sunday, 10am-4pm, however this is weather dependent. If you’re visiting specially, please call us on 0151 644 6466 to check.

The Bridge Inn

Built in 1900, the Bridge Inn was originally a ‘temperance hotel’ that didn’t serve alcohol. This changed when William Lever put it to a vote and the village’s residents decided they wanted a place to enjoy an alcoholic drink. Today it is a popular Grade II listed pub and hotel, with a friendly restaurant specialising in steak and burgers. The Bridge Inn is managed by Greene King. To book and check opening times, go here.

Hulme Hall Café

New to the village is the cafĂ© at Hulme Hall, offering up an informal and delightful place to grab a bite to eat and drink every day of the week. Enjoy hot food, sandwiches, cakes and hot and cold drinks. Take a seat in the building that was originally the dining room for Lever Brothers’ female employees before later hosting the first performance of the Beatles with Ringo Starr.
